10th Annual Great Drift Paddle – POSTPONED
Saturday, April 18, 2020
DRCR extends our thoughts and prayers to everyone being affected by the current Covid-19 worldwide crisis. Never before have we been faced with such a scenario.
We’ve been closely following the rapidly changing forecasts of what’s to come in order to make the best possible choice for this special 10th Anniversary Great Drift paddle event. The health and well-being of our guests, vendors and volunteers is of the utmost importance to all of us.
Therefore, the event is POSTPONED for now. We will continue to monitor the situation and will notify everyone as new date is chosen.
We want to thank our event committee who have labored over this difficult decision since this crisis began. They are dedicated volunteers who work throughout each year to bring people to Dog River so they can learn to value and take care of it.
The Dog River Scenic Blueway is a project of Dog River Clearwater Revival promoting stewardship of the Dog River Watershed, cultural and historical awareness, and recreational opportunities for paddling enthusiasts and recreational boaters in Mobile’s urban river and its tributaries. During this time, check out the Blueway as it offers a great way to get outdoors and practice “social distancing.”.
CANCELLED – 6th Annual Mudbottom Revival Music Festival Sunday, April 26, 2020
We are saddened to announce the cancellation of our popular Spring fundraiser due to the Covid-19 outbreak but feel it is the right thing to do.
We want to thank the Mudbottom event committee who lost countless hours of sleep over this decision.
We thank our artists, Will Kimbrough, The Krickets along with Molly Thomas & the Rare Birds for their support of Dog River. We are working to have them perform once all this has passed.
And, we want to thank our sponsors – Andrew & Liz Terry, Marine & Industrial Supply, Sophellia Gallery, Hancock Whitney Bank, the Deaton families, the Drew family, the Buckhaults, the Legends, Mobile Import Salvage, Hargrove Engineers & Constructors and The Leonardi family for your support and understanding during this time.
Summer General Members & Guests Meeting Tuesday, July 14, 2020
Mark your calendars now to join the Board of Directors for DRCR’s annual Members & Guest meeting where we’ll be focusing on the water quality of Dog River.
Our own Dr. Mimi Fearn will share the latest results of data collected. We will hear reports on litter reduction programs based on data collected during our ongoing EPA/GOMP grant, and introduce a user friendly homeowners guide to proper waste disposal.
The meeting will begin at 6pm at the Grand Mariner Restaurant.
