Dog River Clearwater Revival is excited to announce the award of the Five Star Restoration and Urban Waters Grant by the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation (NFWF)

The main objective for our Restoration and Education Project is to restore 2 acres of emergent fresh and saltwater marsh wetlands and revitalize healthy habitats for the Alabama Red Belly Turtle and West Indian Manatee.  Our goals will be met by improving impaired waterways, removing invasive species & litter, and create an education program for K- 12 graders in the Dog River Watershed.

DRCR’s many partnerships within our community and beyond enable us to create long term solutions for healthier habitats, cleaner waterways and lasting education through outdoor classroom opportunities for area youth.

The Dog River Watershed Restoration and Education project is receiving funding from Alabama Power and Southern Company through their NFWF partnership. Please click  here to read more about Alabama Power’s  commitment to corporate responsibility.  We gratefully acknowledge the NFWF, the Southern Company, Bridgestone Tires, the City of Mobile, and our volunteers who have made this project possible.
